John is the founder of Insurance Renovators, an independent insurance agency serving individuals, families, seniors, and businesses throughout Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota, and Arizona. Serving clients locally in Minnesota and regionally across the Midwest and Arizona, John provides customized health insurance, Medicare, life insurance, disability insurance, and long-term care solutions tailored to both personal and business needs.
With nearly three decades of experience in the insurance industry, John specializes in individual health insurance, Medicare planning, employee benefits, and group health insurance programs. He works closely with small and mid-sized businesses to design cost-effective employee benefits packages, while also helping individuals and retirees navigate Medicare options with clarity and confidence.
After earning a degree in Aviation and Business Management from the University of North Dakota, John began his career as a pilot before entering the insurance field in 1996. He spent ten years as a Marketing Representative with North Star Marketing and Fortis/Assurant Health before founding Insurance Renovators in 2010.
As an independent insurance broker representing more than 100 insurance companies, John provides objective comparisons and strategic guidance — not one-size-fits-all solutions. His consultative approach focuses on long-term relationships, cost control, and protecting what matters most. Based in Andover, Minnesota, John has strong ties to the local community. He and his late wife Vivian raised their three children there. Outside the office, he enjoys time at the lake, golfing, aviation, and travel.
